The combination of the messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp is Mark Zuckerberg’s unfulfilled dream, which is likely to be a hindrance to the US government.
According to a famous Wall Street General report, a violation of the monopoly law could hinder the integration of these three services by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
All three services are currently running on their separate data servers, but if integrated, Facebook will be able to use the rest of the service’s data for promotional purposes and sell it to other companies as well.
Although the FTC has the power to stop the process, it requires a majority of five members and must file a lawsuit in federal court as well.
On the other hand, Facebook representatives have expressed their concern about the FTC.
According to the newspaper, the FTC is likely to begin legal proceedings next month, sources say, adding that the federal department may issue an order stopping the implementation of several points of the policy.
